Finding the Quiet Within
The world is filled with so much NOISE! No matter how much we guard space from the outer noise it finds its way in.
Recently I was on a hike. In nature I can hear my intuition and feel connected on a much deeper level. I am a highly sensitive person and being in nature takes away all the noise and distractions that our modern day society holds. On this particular day I went on a hike that I have never been on and had been told was incredible. It is in the Red Rocks area of Colorado which is an incredible area for me. As I walked I noticed how loud the surrounding highways were. I assumed that as I got further along on the journey the world would slowly go away. I pushed myself to climb higher and higher and as I ascended on the top of the peak I was astounded to hear the world LOUD. The sounds of traffic were way louder than the birds. I searched out a rock away from passersby to regroup. I found my spot and began to cry big ugly mournful tears for the silence that I so craved was not here. As I cried and cried my inner voice spoke to me and as always it gave me the most amazing gift. It said:
"The world is filled with noise of one kind or another. YOU HAVE TO FIND THE SILENCE WITHIN, IT IS ALWAYS THERE"
I have returned to that nugget of inner wisdom often in the days and weeks that followed. I put it up on my board to remind myself daily.
One of the reasons that women feel stuck in life is that the noise of the world becomes too loud. What we should do, who we should be is so loud that our inner voice is quitted and who we really are and what we are really here for gets a bit lost. One of the very best ways to find that voice to reclaim the inner wisdom is to find that quite within on a daily basis. Creating the space to allow that voice to grow. In my early days of reconnecting to my own innate wisdom I used to imagine it as a flame that was inside my belly. It was so dim at the time and as I focused on it it began to grow.
When you are faced with a decision or wanting to create more movement turn within. Use the breath and find the quiet. Trust in that voice more and more and see what change begins to be created out of that.
Here is the thing. There are so many things that stop us from ever hearing our own inner call and for those of us that are able to hear it there is another list of reasons that we create why now isn't the time. Sometimes there is too much internal and/or external noise.
