Pain with A Purpose

As a midwife I used to say to my clients, "birth is pain with a purpose".  At the end of all of it a baby is coming into this world.  I would juxtapose it with other things in life like the pain from a broken arm.  The other day it dawned on me.  There is always a purpose to pain; whether it be a broken arm (your body telling you that something definitely isn't right), birth (telling you to get somewhere safe and secure) or a myriad of other things.

As I sat with this thought it brought me to contemplate the collective western society.  So many of the choices that are made by people are made out of a need to numb, dull or tune out that pain and therefore that purpose.  Emotional pain is the same it is pain

The coaching community, spiritual and self improvement world are filled with calls to be high vibe.  A lot of women have taken this

Going deep is needed, it's where you find the gold, the growth.  It's where the mask comes off and you find out who you are on the inside without all that is going on around you.  It is where you find the center, the core, the real deal, the magic.    Ask anyone who has ever dug deep and they will tell you it's freaking hard and painful AND once you are there the joy is like nothing you have known.

Your body gives you clues.  Your body tells you what's up.  Aches and pains in certain areas are wake up calls.
